Project: The James Apartments
Development of an inner city site for a multi-storey apartment building on the edge of a basalt lava flow formed during the Mt Eden volcanic eruption required stabilisation works in the form of rock bolting and shotcreting coupled with steel grid mesh to confine loose material. Micro-piles were also required to provide basement uplift restraint. The tendons for both rock bolts and micro-piles comprised BluGeo GRP bars. An over burden casing system was required to successfully put down the drill holes and Grout Grippa grout sock was used to control grout loss to country.
