SH20 Mt Roskill Extension

The purpose of the SH20 Mt Roskill Extension is to create a further key link in the Western Ring Route, providing a high standard, strategic extension of SH20 from Queenstown Road through to Maioro Street.

Grouting Services was engaged to design, supply and install 225No permanent double corrosion protected 36mm diameter stress bar ground anchors 95No permanent multi-strand anchors, and 3 full scale trial proving anchors for bridge abutments and retaining wall retention. Demanding programme coupled with separable portions of work and restricted access associated with working adjacent to a live motorway dictated the use of multiple drilling rigs and crews to ensure target programme achieved. Construction of the anchoring works proceeded in tandem with numerous other activities and this required a high level of co-ordination and project management of multi-disciplinary teams. Client commented that Grouting Services is a very low maintenance sub-contractor with excellent quality standards.
