Permeation Grouting

Grouting Services teamed up with Bluey to provide specialist permeation "low-pressure" grout injection trials to improve the voided nature of the compacted coral fill beneath the Funafuti Runway in Tuvalu which was originally constructed several decades ago. Injection holes were put down using an electric powered had operated core drill and the grouting works carried out using a standard electric motored grout pump. A concrete reaction block was used to prevent uplift and heave on the existing runway. BluCem HS200 (cementitious powder) was used for the grouting works.
